Butcher - Meat Retailing – 1st or 2nd year Apprentice

Sarina Russo Apprenticeships has a client that is a quality retail Butcher in Ningi.  Due to business needs they are looking for a part-time keen & reliable 1st or 2nd year Apprentice to join their friendly team.

A person undertaking this apprenticeship will work in retail butcher shops, supermarkets and/or gourmet butcher shops, and be introduced to various practices and principles including: 
•	cut, trim and shape standard cuts of meat to size 
•	process carcasses into primary and secondary cuts 
•	pack and store products for display and sale 
•	order supplies using AUS-MEAT Language, and weigh and check stock on receipt 
•	assemble and operate mincers, grinders, mixers, patty-forming or sausage-forming machines, and bandsaws 
•	conduct product sales and collect payment 
•	prepare marinated meats, value-added and ready-to-cook dishes, and 
•	advise customers about alternative cuts, cooking methods, storage requirements and nutritional aspects of meat.

The employer is looking for enthusiastic applicants that are committed to the completion of an apprenticeship.  You must be able to get to the store, there is a bus stop nearby.  Initially this position is part time doing a minimum of 20 hours per week (possibly 4 x 5 hour days which may include weekends as there is a 7 day roster).  The position could become full time for right applicant.  The employer wants both male & female applicants with a great attitude and that are willing to learn & follow instructions. If you have experience it would be an advantage but not essential.
