Mobile Plant Technology Apprentice -1st year

Our client has a host employer who is a construction equipment supplier located in Melbourne South East.  They are seeking Apprentices in Mobile Plant Technology to join their team. Work will include servicing and maintaining construction equipment such as loggers, log loaders, skidders, mulchers and more!

About the Role

You will be working Full-Time (38 hours per week)

As an Apprentice Mobile Plant Technology duties will include but are not limited to:
Diagnose, overhaul, repair, tune, maintain and test heavy vehicles 
Detect mechanical and electrical faults by using instruments that check charging and starting circuitry, batteries, ignition and ignition timing, fuel injection systems and speed control, cylinder compression, engine condition, braking efficiency, and wheel balance / alignment 
Use oxy, electric, TIG and MIG welding, hand fitting or machining processes to replace or repair faulty parts 
Carry out minor body and trim repairs 
Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or list the work required before a certificate can be issued

About You

The person we're looking for has the ability to work with hand and power tools and have good technical and mechanical aptitude. To be considered for this position you must be a quick learner, a team player and be able to work unsupervised.

A current Manual driver's licence is essential for this position, but most of all we are looking for reliable candidates that have a passion to complete a 48month Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship.
